The City of Florence is opening applications for the Florence Fire/EMS Citizen Academy, a program designed to offer community members insight into fire and emergency services. The academy will run for eight weeks, from September 8 to October 27, with sessions held on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 8101 Dream Street.
Participants in the academy will gain practical experience in various areas such as firefighting techniques, rescue operations, emergency medical services, fire safety and prevention, and apparatus operations. The program includes live demonstrations to enhance learning.
Eligibility for the program extends to Florence residents, business owners, and community members aged 18 or older who wish to understand more about Fire/EMS operations. As spaces are limited, early application is recommended.
Interested individuals should fill out the online application form and submit it to Fire Marshal Randy Childress at randy.childress@florence-ky.gov. For further information or assistance with the application process, contact the Florence Fire/EMS Department at 859-647-5660.
