Florence hosts resource fair for veterans and military families

The City of Florence Veterans Commission, in collaboration with Warriors Journey Home and Florence Christian Church, will host a Veterans Resource Fair on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Florence Government Center in Kentucky and is open to veterans, active-duty military members, and their families.

The fair offers various sessions and presentations. Attendees can view "Here.Is.Better," a documentary on trauma therapy for veterans with PTSD, shown twice in Community Room A. Homewatch Caregivers of Northern Kentucky will discuss home healthcare services for veterans at 10:30 a.m. in Community Room C.

Warriors Journey Home will hold an information session on moral injury healing at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Boone County Veterans Memorial Project presentation at noon in the same room. At 1:00 p.m., PurePost will present its cloud-based software that translates work experience into job skills.

In the Council Chambers, the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame will conduct a panel discussion at 11:00 a.m., while the Florence Veterans Commission will hold another panel at 1:00 p.m.

Various organizations such as Patriot Guard Riders and Easterseals Redwood Military & Veteran Services will have booths to provide information and answer questions.

The City of Florence Veterans Commission aims to support veterans through this resource fair. Greg Clift, the commission liaison, encourages participation from all veterans and their families.
