Mel Carroll Council Member | City of Florence

The City of Florence is set to host its annual Veterans Day Program on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Florence Government Center, located at 8100 Ewing Boulevard in Florence, Kentucky. This program aims to honor those who have served and continue to serve in the armed forces.

The event will be held in the lower level Community Rooms and will begin with an opening ceremony featuring a presentation of colors and the national anthem. Assistant Chief Ryan Born from Florence Fire/EMS will perform alongside patriotic music by the Florence Community Band and Chorus. William Banks from St. Elizabeth Veterans Associate Resource Group (VARG) is scheduled as the keynote speaker.

A special moment of recognition for all veterans present will be included in the program. The event will conclude with a Three-volley salute by the VFW Honor Guard outdoors and a performance of "Taps" by the Florence Community Band. Attendees can enjoy refreshments in the lobby after the program.

The City of Florence encourages community members to attend this tribute to veterans, recognizing their service and dedication.
