The Florence Police Department officially welcomed Austin Messer and Jeffrey Morgan as its newest officers on December 10. The swearing-in ceremony occurred during the Florence City Council meeting.
According to the department, Messer previously worked as a firefighter and paramedic for the City of Florence. Morgan most recently served as the onsite medical representative at the CVG Amazon Urgent Care and continues his service as a combat medic in the Army Reserve.
Both recruits have commenced online basic training and are set to complete 18 weeks of training at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky. The city extends its welcome to both men joining the department.
