Florence offers Christmas tree recycling services in early January

Joshua J. Hunt Administration Director/City Administrator | City of Florence

The City of Florence is offering a Christmas tree recycling program for residents. Participants are asked to remove all tinsel, ornaments, ribbons, lights, and bags from their natural trees before disposal. The Kentucky Fish & Wildlife will handle the proper disposal of the trees.

Residents have two options for recycling their trees. The curbside service is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2025. Residents should place their trees on the curb the night before for collection by Florence Public Services. Trees not placed on the curb will not be collected.

Alternatively, residents can drop off their trees at Stringtown Park located at 7340 Burlington Pike between December 31, 2024, and January 5, 2025. The deadline for drop-off is no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 5.

For further details, individuals can contact the Public Services Department at 859-647-5416.

In case snow crews need to implement snow routes for road treatment on the scheduled pick-up day, the event will be rescheduled to the following day after roads are cleared.
