At Boone County High School, students achieved a college readiness rate of 33% on the math portion of the ACT for the 2022-23 school year, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

On average, students scored 17.8 in math during the 2022-23 school year, compared to 17.1 in the previous year.

Math proficiency in the school rose 11% compared to the previous school year, when 22% of students were considered ready for post-secondary education.

For comparison, 33% of students across Kentucky met or exceeded ACT benchmarks in math during 2022-23 school year.

Beyond math, 47% of students Boone County High School met the English college readiness benchmarks in the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, 43% were considered college-ready in reading.

Boone County High School is located within Boone County School District, in which Larry A. Ryle High School stood out with the highest ACT performance in math in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2024, Kentucky ranked third among states testing 100% of their students on the ACT, with an average score of 18.6. However, NAEP scores indicate that Kentucky students have performed slightly worse in core subjects since 2019, particularly in math, where proficiency has dropped by nearly 10%.
