As Boone County Schools prepare for potential disruptions to the school schedule due to weather or emergencies, they have outlined a plan for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days. These NTI days allow students to continue their education from home when attending in-person classes is not possible.
NTI days are designed to minimize interruptions to the academic calendar and ensure students remain on track with their studies. On these days, students are required to log in and attend each class period at the regularly scheduled time. Teachers will provide links to virtual class meetings.
Assignments will be given in advance or through online platforms such as Google Classroom or Canvas. For students without internet access or with special circumstances, paper packets will be available. Teachers will offer virtual instruction and remain accessible via email during school hours for questions and support.
Assignments must be completed and submitted within five school days following an NTI day. To prepare for these days, parents are encouraged to verify that their children have access to necessary resources like devices, internet connections, and login credentials for online platforms. Reviewing the NTI plan and assignments with children in advance is also recommended.
Communication about activating an NTI day will occur through the district’s messaging system, school websites, and local news outlets. Parents should ensure their contact information is current with their child’s school office.
