Eugene Vernon Hyde, Jr., 76, Former Teacher, Passes Away

Eugene Vernon Hyde, Jr., 76, of Walton, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Born on February 5, 1948, in Leucadia, California, to the late Louise and Eugene Vernon Hyde, Sr., Hyde was a dedicated teacher known for his practical approach to education. He taught Chemistry and Physical Science at several high schools and was a Deacon at Elsmere Baptist Church.

Hyde is survived by his sisters Martha Hatfield (Roger) and Linda Owen, brother Nathanael Hyde (Diane), niece Ashley Fuhr (Russell), nephews Roger Patrick, Benjamin Patrick (Leta), Travis Patrick (Michelle), and Chris Patrick (Amanda), along with cousins, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Ann Hyde.

Visitation will be at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042 on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kentucky will follow the service. Donations may be made to the Hyde Memorial Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
