Joshua J. Hunt Administration Director/City Administrator | City of Florence

The City of Florence has announced plans for its annual Memorial Day events on Monday, May 26, 2025. The community is invited to participate in a day of remembrance and gratitude for the service members who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The day's activities will begin with the city's Annual Memorial Day Parade at 10:00 a.m. The parade will start at Boone County High School, proceed along Burlington Pike, turn onto Ewing Boulevard, and conclude at the Florence Government Center. Road closures along the parade route will commence at 9:45 a.m. and remain until the parade ends.

Following the parade, an Annual Memorial Day Ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Boone County Veterans Memorial on the Florence Government Center campus. This year's ceremony honors Councilmember David A. Osborne, whose service to the community exemplified dedication and sacrifice.

Attendees can expect patriotic music from the Florence Community Band and Chorus, including a special rendition of the National Anthem by Florence Assistant Fire/EMS Chief Ryan Born. The city aims to recognize and honor all military personnel who have served in defense of the United States.
