Florence seeks public input on future community space plans

Florence seeks public input on future community space plans
Jeff Mallery, Police Chief | City of Florence

The City of Florence is collaborating with KZF Design to create a Master Plan for six city-owned properties. The city is seeking input from residents, families, and business owners to help shape the future of these community spaces.

Florence invites participation in two ways. Residents can attend a Community Open House at the Florence Nature Park Event Center, located at 7200 Nature Park Drive, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. This event will feature a presentation of preliminary concept designs followed by a community discussion. Alternatively, individuals can complete an online survey available until May 30 at https://engage.kzf.com/COFSurvey.

City officials emphasize the importance of diverse perspectives in planning these spaces. "Whether you are a parent, business owner, or lifelong resident, your perspective is vital," reads the invitation from the city. Questions posed include potential features like splash pads or dog parks and other gathering spaces.

Participation requires only five minutes to provide feedback that could influence how these community areas evolve. "Together, let’s make Florence an even better place to live, work, and play," encourages the city's message.
