Boone County Schools enhance classrooms with new audio technology
Eric McArtor, Deputy Superintendent/Chief Operating Officer | Boone County School

Boone County Schools has initiated a partnership with Audio Enhancement to integrate advanced technology into classrooms throughout the county. This initiative is aimed at enhancing student safety, improving communication, and fostering inclusive learning environments.

A key component of this upgrade is the implementation of classroom audio systems. Teachers are equipped with small microphones, ensuring that all students can hear lessons clearly, regardless of their seating position. This adjustment has reportedly led to notable improvements in student engagement and focus.

The new system also includes instant safety alerts and emergency tools. Teachers can send emergency alerts at the press of a button, with classrooms receiving visual notifications during lockdowns. Teachers can confirm their rooms are secure while school administrators receive real-time updates. The integration of security systems, updated intercoms, and smart bell scheduling enhances the coordination and speed of school-wide responses.

To support multilingual families, built-in language translation tools have been incorporated into the system. These tools enable teachers and staff to communicate more effectively with students and parents in various languages, thereby making classrooms more welcoming and accessible.

Additionally, InfoView digital screens have been installed in hallways to display daily messages, announcements, clocks, and emergency alerts. This feature aims to keep everyone informed throughout the school day.
